JXUT strictly adheres to all relevant national and provincial laws regarding research safety, research ethics, and research integrity and has in place to robust systems to ensure the highest standards. Particular attention is given to matters of health and safety and to the protection of intellectual property.
JXUT strictly implements the requirements of “Several Opinions on Further Strengthening the Construction of Scientific Research Integrity and Opinions on Further Carry Forward the Scientist Spirit to Strengthen Working Style and Learning Environment Construction” issued by General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council. JXUT conscientiously shoulders the responsibilities of legal persons, strictly fulfills the contractual obligations for scientific research, standardizes the management of scientific research funds, and strengthens the education, guidance, supervision and management of researchers in JXUT, takes the initiative to discover and seriously deal with illegal use of funds, violation of credit requirements and other behaviors. Researchers should consciously practice the spirit of scientists in the new era, cherish their academic reputation, abide by scientific research standards, adhere to the bottom line of integrity, strengthen their responsibility for scientific research, and contribute scientific and technological strength to accelerating the building of a world power in Technology and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The Biological Safety Law of the People's Republic of China has been adopted at the 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on 17 October, 2020, and came into effect on 15 April, 2021. On 4 June, 2021, Jiangxi Provincial Department of Technology has also issued the relevant requirements for the Implementation Rules of Experimental Animal License Management in Jiangxi Province (Revised for Trial). The University strictly strengthens the management of the relevant documents of scientific research ethics.
At present, the scientific research work in JXUT does not involve the scientific research ethics. The works involving biological aspects in research related biological research, pathogenic microbial research, human genetic resources and others have a very strict reporting and approval process.
JXUT strictly complies with the laws and regulations formulated in the Measures for the Administration of Scientific Data, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of Technology Progress, the Law of the People's Republic of China on Promoting the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements, and the Interim Measures for the Sharing of Government Information Resources. The Measures Recognition and Reward of Scientific Research Projects and Achievements of Jiangxi University of Technology have been formulated, and all the staff (including retirees), their research achievements made in the open laboratory and research base of the University, and made with the assistance of JXUT’s staff and students, the ownership of those research achievements belong to the University, they are an important part of the University intellectual property. The University carries out the management of appraisal, registration, protection, filing and reward according to the management methods. Researchers in the University can carry out the application of projects at all levels and of all types, including national, provincial, municipal level, university level, etc., and the application and review process management is roughly the same. All kinds of scientific research projects have formulated relevant project management measures and the use of funds. The University has formulated the Measures for Scientific Research Project Management of Jiangxi University of Technology (jxut.edu.cn) to strengthen the management of project application, project approval, topic conclusion and other processes. In the project evaluation progress, the review principle of "relying on experts, promoting democracy, merit support, fair and reasonable" is strictly followed, and the two-level review system of peer expert communication review and meeting review is adopted.
Normally before the project declaration, it is necessary to go through the project originality and novelty search. An objective and impartial technical document composed in written form, which is based on the comparative analysis of the originality finding points of the originality finding projects and the literature information in the scope of the database, etc., and the identification of novelty finding points. Its purpose is to provide objective literature basis for scientific research project, achievement evaluation, new product identification, award application, patent application and so on. The Scientific Research Office has formulated a scientific research reward mechanism for competition achievements. Standardize the identification of scientific research credits for the supervisors of award-winning projects in various discipline competitions, standardize the confirmation of project concluding results, standardize the credit of scientific research performance in professional title evaluation; establish and improve mechanisms for transforming innovation achievements. Actively explore the mechanism of linking and integrating teachers' research projects with discipline competitions, support and encourage the timely transformation and application of teaching reform experience, new teaching and research achievements, new technologies, patents, and design achievements gained by teachers in their innovative work, promote the optimal allocation of scientific and technological resources, provide resources and channels for teachers to innovate, promote teachers to become the subject of technological innovation, and boost high-level discipline competitions to achieve new breakthroughs.
At present, students' research work is mainly to participate in teachers' research projects and subject-related competition projects. When students enter the University, they will have a detailed professional entrance education, which will introduce the main competition items of their major and the main research direction of the teachers, interested students can participate in the teacher's scientific research projects, under the guidance of the teacher to participate in the relevant national, provincial and university level competition projects, raise students’ interest in scientific research, learning scientific research methods and improving scientific research ability from competition projects. The University attaches great importance to scientific research feeding back teaching, improves students' innovation ability, and constantly improves the quality of learning. In recent years, students have participated in various scientific research projects of teachers for more than 1000 person-times, published more than 500 academic papers and more than 300 patents. The University attaches great importance to the cultivation of innovative students' innovation interests. In order to promote students' practical ability, strengthen students' innovation level, comprehensively improve students' scientific research and innovation ability, encourage students to actively participate in teachers' scientific research projects, and consolidate the professional knowledge learned from the project.
